Climate Change

Despite critical momentum, the world is not on track to mitigate the most severe impacts of climate change. TWP is committed to investing in research and innovations required to accelerate the global transition to clean energy and to supporting organizations dedicated to preserving and protecting the planet’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Below is a selection of grant partners.

Osa Conservation

The Osa Peninsula covers an area of approximately 700 square miles and is composed of the largest remaining stretch of tropical lowland rainforest across Central America. It is estimated that it harbors 2.5% of the world's biodiversity. Osa Conservation is building climate resilience for people and nature across this landscape through ecosystem stewardship, enhancing scientific understanding, education and training, and creating sustainable economic opportunities.

Earthjustice

Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit public interest environmental law organization. They wield the power of the law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change. Earthjustice believes that fights for justice and our environment are inseparable, and they are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.

Environmental Defense Fund

Guided by science and economics, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) works with partners and allies around the world to advance game-changing solutions that stabilize the climate, strengthen the ability of people and nature to thrive and support people’s health. In 2024, EDF launched MethaneSAT, a groundbreaking methane satellite that will track methane leaks and emissions other satellites can’t, and share that information transparently with the public.

Save the Redwoods League

Redwoods sequester more carbon per acre than any other above ground forest on the planet. With only 5% of the world's old growth forests remaining, we support conservation groups like Save the Redwoods League who are not only protecting and restoring these iconic forests, but driving research that will enable us to sequence and better support these ancient trees and the crucial role they can play in the fight against climate change.

Rainforest Trust

Rainforest Trust saves endangered wildlife and protects our planet by creating rainforest reserves through partnerships, community engagement and donor support. Rainforest Trust envisions a future where half of Earth’s lands and waters are protected, providing refuge for wildlife and stabilizing the climate.
